On Thursday, August 9, 2018, IEMA Chair Jaida Ohokannoak and Director Emery Paquin joined the 20th anniversary celebrations for Ekati diamond mine. Held by Dominion Diamond, celebrations included a trip to the mine site for a ceremony and the unveiling of a plaque commemorating 20 years in operation, as well as a dinner held at Somba K’e Park in Yellowknife.
